Philippines inbound travelers to use eArrival Card in place of One Health Pass.
The Philippine government introduces the electronic eArrival Card as replacement of One-Health Pass (OHP) for Filipinos and foreign travelers arriving in the Philippines.
The OHP requirement for in-bound travelers is now lifted after the Department of Tourism (DOT) discussions and coordination with Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) and its’ member agencies (Department of Health (DOH), Bureau of Quarantine (BoQ) and other agency members.
The inception of e-Arrival Card arises with the Department of Tourism proposal to remove the OHP due to numerous complaints of travelers entering the Philippines. The use of electronic Arrival Card or eArrival Card aims to attract more tourists coming to the country and simplify the arrival process.
In comparison to the One-Health Pass, irrelevant information which are included previously in the OHP are now removed. Fields like occupation of traveler and educational attainment were not included in the e-Arrival Card. Only travel details, profile and health declaration will be requested from travelers.
Also, the 20 items on tourism related fields contained in OHP were reduced to 10 items in the eArrival Card, leading to easier and faster completion of the traveler’s registration process providing a smooth and more comfortable experience.
Purpose of eArrival Card
The eArrival Card serves as Philippine Travel Health Certificate. It is an online Health Declaration and Contact Tracing platform of the Philippine government to promote a seamless movement of international travelers from departure of the country of origin to arrival at the destination Local Government Unit (LGU). This serves as the database of the Philippines for contact tracing purposes.
How to Get the eArrival Card
The eCard is a browser-based system so there is no need to download or install a mobile app. Using a smartphone, laptop, tablet, or personal computer open the Philippine government site: www.onehealthpass.com.ph. and register at least 3 days (72 hours) prior to arrival in the Philippines. This is free of charge.
As this is an online platform a good internet connection is needed when registering in the site. After registration, a QR code is generated to lessen processing time at point of entry.
If a traveler is unable to fill out the electronic card before departure, a staff from Bureau of Quarantine will help in completing and uploading the eArrival Card upon arrival in the Philippine.
